Summary
The field investigation was conducted in an experimental garden of the Warmia and Masuria University in 2000-2004. The subject of the experiment were trees of two Mespilus germanica cultivars (‘Bredase Reus’ and ‘Westerveld’) obtained from a Boskoop nursery. The cultivar ‘Bredase Reus’ began earlier its growth resumption, as well as flowering and fructification. The fruits acquired higher weight and bigger diameter. This cultivar (also) gave higher fruit yield from one tree than ‘Westerveld’ cultivar.
